The first thing I noticed about this house was actually the side entrance. There’s this casual mudroom entry with pieces of driftwood collected from the beach tucked around the railings, and it immediately gives the house that relaxed coastal cottage feeling.
Inside, the morning light is probably one of my favorite things. The corner dining nook has windows on both sides, so the sunlight just pours into the room. From there, everything connects. The dining area opens visually to the kitchen, where the sink sits under a window looking out toward the outdoor dining table, and the living room is right there too. You can literally be cooking, sitting at the table or relaxing on the sofa and still see the TV. It’s a really comfortable layout for everyday living.
The two bedrooms are nicely separated into the sleeping side of the house with the full bathroom nearby. The larger bedroom easily accommodates a king size bed, and the second works perfectly with a queen, so it feels much more like a year round home than just a little summer cottage.
But the backyard might be where I would spend most of my time. A deck runs along the length of the house with room for outdoor dining and seating, then there’s another spot with double lounge chairs where you could disappear with a book or just sit there and do absolutely nothing, which honestly sounds pretty good.
